January 18th, 2023 BHS will be holding its second blood drive. The drive will be located in the field house. If you or anyone you know, including teachers are interested in signing up visit Mrs. Cardinals’ room (room 121), To sign up for the blood drive you must be sixteen or older. If you are sixteen you need a permission slip, they are outside of Mrs. Cardinal’s room.
Mrs. Cardinal has been organizing and donating to BHS’s blood drives for over a decade. Her advice for “first-timers” is to eat a good breakfast and try not to be nervous. Mrs. Cardinal says “most students have a nice time,” After donating you have the chance of winning a free lake 8 movie pass, and a t-shirt. Usually, BHS has three blood drives a year. There will be another during the spring.
School blood drives are very important, not only do you give back to the community but you are saving lives. It is estimated that 4.5 million Americans a year will need a blood transfusion. Again, if you want to sign up visit Mrs. Cardinal’s room (room 121).
