Hello Seniors! From the time this is being written, we have two-ish months until our last day of school and graduation, how exciting!! Here is some super important information that we went over in a meeting in case you missed it!
Graduation Information
-Graduation is Friday, May 26, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Rudy Sharkey Stadium and the ceremony will be live-streamed.
-For attendees, gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the stadium will be cleared 30 minutes after the ceremony.
-Graduates report to the show gym in the high school BY 6:30 p.m.
-As of right now, 5 tickets per family. There may be more tickets released later. Everyone needs a ticket including babies and children!
For Students:
-NO HEELS!! Heels cannot be worn on the turf.
-We are still required to abide by specific guidelines set forth by the state and the health department.
-You may NOT decorate your cap.
Graduation Rehearsal
-Thursday, May 25th at 8:00 a.m. This is MANDATORY if you want to walk across the
stage. Graduates report to BHS show gym by 8:00 a.m. and rehearsal should only take 2 hours. Ticket information will be distributed there.
Graduates will receive the “Congratulations” sign for your yard. The sign is a gift from the Barberton Education Association. This is when the class photo will be taken!
Senior Check Out
-In order to receive graduation tickets, the senior checkout form must be completed and turned in at rehearsal. That form will be distributed on Monday, May 8.
Cap and Gown Pick Up
Pick-up is Tuesday, April 11, during all three lunches. Any senior who cannot pick up his/her cap and gown at that time will need to see Mrs.
Boyd in room 228 before school, after school, or during Magic Time.
Class of 2023 Parade
-The Parade will be held Thursday, May 25th, at 7:00 p.m. this is NOT MANDATORY!
-Line-up begins at 6:15 p.m. at BHS parking lot between high school and stadium. Parade route will be announced the week of May 15th.
-Seniors may decorate their cars and cars may have just two people: the graduate and the driver.
-No one may sit in the beds of trucks.
Pictures at Graduation
-We will have a photographer at the ceremony to take pictures of each graduate receiving their diploma.
-These pictures can be downloaded from the BCSD website.
Senior Hours
-These are due April 17. No exceptions.
-You will not be allowed to go to prom if you turn them in late.
-If you are working toward the seal, you can have until May 5 for those hours, but you still need to have the ten done by April 17.
Prom 2023
-Will be held Saturday, May 6th at the Galaxy Restaurant from 6:30 pm until 10 pm.
-Tickets will go on sale 4/24-4/28. Tickets bought before 5/1 will be $45. If a ticket is bought 5/1-5/3 the cost will be $55. Absolutely NO tickets will be sold after 2:45 on May 3rd!
-Juniors and Seniors are able to bring a guest. Out-of-school guest forms will be available in the main office.
-If you had OSS at all during the second semester, you cannot attend.
-In order to attend, you must have your senior hours completed by April 17.
Seniors we are SO CLOSE, check in with yourself mentally, physically, and keep up the good grades to finish out the year! Don’t forget to HAVE FUN!!!!
