In January, Barberton High School got the opportunity to participate in the First Annual Suburban League Honors Choir at Hudson High School. Students involved were Soprano Catie Votaw, Atlos Ashlynn Hanlin and Kayd Vierheller, Tenors Vincent Vinay and Aaron Miller, and Bass Dahne Corej. These students started learning their music in November and rehearsed until the day of. Schools included were Aurora, Barberton, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Cuyahoga Falls, Highland, Hudson, North Royalton, Revere, Stow-Munroe Falls, Tallmadge, Twinsburg, & Wadsworth.
They learned and rehearsed four pieces of music under the direction of Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt of the University of Toronto. After getting to know each other and fine-tuning the repertoire, the students performed a concert in the evening. It is the hope that this honor choir opportunity will be available each year in January for Suburban League students.
