Recording a fight at Barberton High School has drastic consequences. When students record a fight, they are automatically putting themselves in the middle of the situation. As explained by Mr. Muren, “School has a policy that phones should not be out, period. Students are posting someone with no permission, which is a violation.” If students are recording a fight, it can cause them serious problems with the law.
Along with the consequences of the law, students who record fights are also putting other students in danger. Students involved in fights may feel pressure from the recorders to keep fighting. Recording a fight may cause the fight to go on even longer.
When you see a fight, step away, find a staff member, and be safe. Recording a fight can have serious consequences, so make sure you don’t do it!
