In 2019, Rian Johnson directed the wildly popular movie, Knives Out. In 2022, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, was released on Netflix. Glass Onion is a sequel to Knives Out which includes returning Detective Benoit Blanc and a new cast of characters.
Filming was in June and July of 2021 with a budget of $40 million but it only made $15 million USD and $300 million globally. The movie might have done better if Netflix had released it longer and in more theaters. Glass Onion has a 92% on the Tomatometer and 93% on the audience score.
This movie was really interesting and still had the same mysterious and funny feel as the first one with totally different characters. The movie focuses on current events while showing a topic that is somewhat unlikely. A group of friends are invited to a private island owned by their friend, then they have to investigate the truth behind their lives and a murder that has occurred. This is the perfect movie to watch if you love mysteries. I highly recommend this film as well as Knives Out.
